Comments?
This volume is excellent as it is easy to read and understand, and makes a concrete and fully Scripture-based argument for the importance of holy living.
This book is a robust treatment on Biblical Holiness.
John N. Oswalt bridges the gap between an Academic text and a Devotional, but I felt like this was far more pastoral and practical than academic. Obviously, Oswalt's background as an Old Testament scholar is on full display as he shows that personal holiness is a unifying theme throughout the Bible. The core of the book, however, is a call to personal transformation as we walk daily in step with the Holy Spirit. So if you are looking for a day-by-day devotional with short entries and prayers, this is not that layout. However, if you want a book focused on Christian living and spiritual growth that is deeply grounded in serious biblical study without complex theological jargon, then this book fits perfectly.
